Regulating the telecom sector TRA (Telecommunication Regularity Authority) issued most recent report showing the usage of the Mobile Phones has increased to 228.3 phones per100 users until March 2017.
It evinces every resident has two or more mobile phones. March 2017study beholds increased number of users and subscribers of telecom than February as 132,000 new subscribers observed in the following month and a cumulating subscriptions lead to 19.835 million that is a huge leap.
As highlighted in the report’s statistics by the authority the dramatic increase in the Month of March; new subscriptions clinched around 104,000 that is the largest increase ever. During the phase increase in contract services is 28,000 subscriptions.
Experts claim the sustained growth in the sector and increasing mobile phone services and subscribers are the evidence of the country’s development in the previous years. It reflects overall growth of the region.
According to a study published in 2016 by World Economic Forum; UAE covered first position among the Arab region for inclination in telecommunication network and globally got 26th position amongst 139. The capacity of information and communication technology sector to increase and benefits the economy is measured by network readiness index that shows the growth and development.
The report consisting network readiness index collected the data from International Telecommunications Union, the World Bank, the United Nations and other organizations.
